As a fresher to University and more importantly,as a male,I expected to land hot girls in South Africa easy..If only I knew what the real rules to South African courtship is like..
A year and a half later,I consider myself somewhat wise from my experiences and came up with interesting albeit maybe obvious observations and have been reflecting on it.
-White girls are,in public atleast and for the most part,only supposed to go out/hook up with white boys
-Black girls hook up/date everyone except Indians and Asians
-Coloured girls go out with everyone but if they aren't students expect a hefty price tag
-Asian Girls only hook up/date asian boys
-White boys get with everyone
Yes,these are generalisation,but as with every generalisation there is a grain of truth. Which makes me wonder, with apartheid out, with multi racial interaction allowed, why are lines being drawn out? One can look up anywhere on social or dating sites and one will find single people of races seeking people from specific races and one can only wonder why? Then these same "poor and lonely" souls complain that they can't find love. Ofcourse you can't find love! You don't go looking for love, it comes looking for you and you accept it in whatever form it comes in! Sigh...Apartheid may no longer rule the land,but it certainly does rule the hearts of the people...lets hope that this trend fades away soon..
